Supporting the Senior Planning Engineer, this role is critical to delivering safe, practical mine designs and schedules that drive underground performance and achieve production targets, while upholding best-practice safety and compliance standards.

This is an awesome opportunity to work within a high performing and dedicated team, on an 8/6 roster.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver safe, practical underground mine designs, including development (aligned to 13-week plans), stope designs, notes and reconciliations, Mini-DAF/DAF designs, and level extraction plans
  • Prepare and maintain 13-week schedules aligned to operational and safety requirements
  • Review drill and blast plans to ensure safe, effective execution
  • Ensure all designs comply with geotechnical requirements and GCMP, incorporating ventilation modelling into short- and medium-term planning
  • Promote a strong safety culture through hazard identification, JSEAs, inspections, incident reporting, investigations, and risk management, ensuring compliance with EH&S and company standards
  • Maintain and manage planning systems and databases (Deswik, Plodtrack, Livemine) with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
  • Identify and communicate critical path activities across weekly plans, forecasts, and budgets
  • Deputise for the Underground Manager as required



About You:

  • Experience in underground hard rock mining (ideally narrow vein)
  • Strong capability in mine design, planning, and scheduling
  • Proficiency in Deswik (CAD, UGDB, Sched) Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining)
  • Experience in a Production or Planning Engineering role
  • Underground time completed
  • Current unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Clearance (within 12 months)
  • First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate desirable
